News Sources - Factual, Independent Media

To replace the corrupted formerly-reliable news outlets like the Washington Post or the LA Times, many people are turning to a new consortium: The Contrarian. However, as great as the Contrarian is, it is mainly a collection of columnists, and they do not have the resources to, say, send their foreign correspondent to Gaza to report on what's happening on the ground.

These media outlets DO have those resources:

• The PBS News Hour (television news)

​For local Tucson and Southern Arizona news, try:

• AZPM (Arizona Public Media) - on Friday evenings at 8:30 p.m. they have a very useful half-hour show on local politics called "The Press Room."
• Tucson Sentinel - "an independent non-profit online newspaper covering local, state and national issues in Arizona."
• AZ Luminaria - "Arizona Luminaria is a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to truly local news and community-centered journalism. Arizona Luminaria listens, learns and lights a path for people who want local news that’s a resource for action, equality and democracy."
• Tucson Spotlight - "Tucson Spotlight is a nonprofit newsroom launching September 30 that aims to shine a light on undercovered topics and communities, provide robust, community-based coverage and amplify the voices of new, emerging and diverse journalists."
• Arizona Daily Star (paywalled) - owned by Lee Enterprises.
